I love my city!
Austin is listed as the 2014 #10 city for Employment Satisfaction in a recently released Glassdoor.com list. Duh! It's wonderful here. Go to South, Central, and North Austin and you'll find that they are very different. However, they are all generally centered around an unspoken principle of individuality. Such an attitude definitely shows through in Austin company cultures!
In Texas, ATX is in second place sitting above Houston (#21) & Dallas-Fort Worth (#23) and falling one spot below San Antonio (#9).

In my continuous pursuit to better myself and expand my technical knowledge base, I've decided to spend some time this summer to break into web programming!
As an engineering student, I have been able to develop skills in several programming languages and I really do advocate choosing at least one and learning the basics. Even if you don't plan to program anything in the entire span of your career, programming helps you to sharpen your problem-solving skill set which is invaluable in any career!
Jewel's Random Tidbits - I'm starting with the lessons from www.codecademy.com. Check them out if you get a chance!
Hello there wonderful reader.
It's been almost two months since my last post! My excuse? I don't have one. HOWEVER, in the past two months I've experienced so many things that have truly inspired me more than ever to start a business (...or two!).
While thinking of how much of a reward starting my own businesses will be, I began to think of what kinds of statements I want them to make.
You know, everything you do makes a statement - so do something good and make it great.
I want my businesses to make unique statements through their brands. This brought me to think of Heinz Tomato Ketchup. When I think of ketchup, I think of Heinz. That's what I want for my businesses! Yes, there may be competition but my goal is for my brands to be so great that customers automatically think of us when they think of our industries.
It is possible. Anything is possible.
Jewel's Random TidBits - Success through trial and error has been my lifelong MO. Remember the quote "you miss 100% of the shots you don't take".
